Edinburgh City overcome Cove Rangers to set up play-off with East Stirling

Lowland League champions Edinburgh City advanced to the pyramid play-off final following a 1-1 second-leg draw against Cove Rangers at Meadowbank.

Edinburgh held a 3-0 lead from the first leg and continued their good form when they took the lead through midfielder Douglas Gair's chipped effort after 32 minutes.

City striker Ross Allum, who scored twice in the previous match, had a chance to double his side's lead but was thwarted by Cove goalkeeper John McCafferty.

A late equaliser from Jamie Watt from the Highland League side brought the scores level but Edinburgh advance with a 4-1 aggregate victory.

They will now face East Stirling for a place in Scottish League Two next season.
