Eden Hazard will soon be raking in an astonishing wage as he becomes Chelsea’s highest earner with his new deal. A report in the Telegraph reveals that the winger will be looking at a £200,000-a-week pay packet.

The deal will keep the 23-year-old at Chelsea with a five-year deal and is at the small print stage says the report and then a public announcement will be made. The Belgium winger has been the subject of some extraordinary transfer claims this week with suggestions that Real Madrid were looking to raise the funds to bring the player to the Bernabeu by selling Gareth Bale to Manchester United.

News of the deal will likely kill further speculation regarding his future, particularly ahead of the Champions League clash with PSG which was overshadowed by repeated speculation linking the player with a move to PSG which was not helped by a post-match interview with him wearing a PSG shirt after Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat in Paris.

Mourinho has insisted that Hazard would sign his new contract “soon” and the report claims that efforts have been increased to tie up any lose ends. Hazard has so far won just the Europa League with Chelsea but remains in contention for four titles.

Chelsea play Stoke away on the 22nd, West Ham at home on the 26th and Southampton away on the 28th.
