Murray is mint for Arbroath

Simon Murray hit a hat-trick as Arbroath cut loose in a 5-1 win over 10-man East Fife.

Ross Campbell's dismissal early in the second half changed the course of the game and meant that Arbroath went on to a fourth win in a row thanks to Murray's second treble of the season.

He gave the visitors the lead in the 10th minute when he latched on to Jordon Lowton's pass before rounding the goalkeeper and finishing coolly.

Craig Johnstone conceded a penalty shortly afterwards, allowing Jon McShane to level from the spot.

However, substitute Campbell was shown a straight red after 50 minutes and Paul McManus soon restored the lead by turning home Lowton's cross.

Murray notched his second when he fired in from six yards on the hour mark and added his third five minutes later with a smart finish on his left foot, before Jack Smith rounded it off late on.
