Dyche unmoved by tough run

Burnley manager Sean Dyche insists a fearsome run of fixtures at the start of their run-in to the end of the season hold no fear for him.

The Clarets remain mired in trouble, three points adrift of safety, after just one win in 12 matches and no clean sheets after a 2-0 defeat at Anfield.

Their next four matches are against top-six sides Manchester City, Southampton, Tottenham and Arsenal although the remainder of their run-in includes matches against fellow strugglers Everton, Hull, Leicester and Aston Villa.

"We know it is a tough run of games but they are not all deemed as tough," he said.

"As we get further into this run it starts to be more nitty, gritty and rough and tumble where teams are fighting and that bodes well because we are good at that.

"After 10 games I would have taken being three points adrift with 10 games to go because we had four points after game 10. We've moved on so far from then.

"All year we talk about runs of games but it means nothing - the end is what counts in the Premier League.

"People are talking about a points total - as long as we are the right side of it I couldn't give a monkey's to be honest.

"We put pressure on ourselves although there is none of this 'little old Burnley'.

"We want to be in the Premier League but it is different to normal clubs in there, the ones who are spending £40million-£50million who really desperately need to be in it because it affects the whole club and not just the team.

"Some of the clubs have massive debts and situations off the pitch and massive expectations from fans."

Burnley defender Danny Lafferty has joined Sky Bet Championship side Rotherham on a one-month loan deal, subject to clearance.

The Northern Ireland international, who signed a new three-year deal at Turf Moor in 2014, has made just two appearances for the Clarets this season, having played 12 appearances in all competitions last season as Burnley won promotion to the Premier League.
