Ugwu treble inspires Pars

Gozie Ugwu hit a hat-trick as Dunfermline ended a run of four Scottish League One games without a win when brushing aside bottom club Stirling with a 4-0 victory at East End Park.

The Pars were in front after just five minutes when Ugwu headed in a free-kick from out wide on the right and the striker was on target again 13 minutes later when firing in a shot which went in off the post.

Ugwu could have had a first-half treble but nodded wide as Dunfermline continued to dominate and he had another header touched onto the bar early on in the second period.

Good work from Joshua Falkingham then did allow Ugwu to finally net for the third time on the hour mark and Andy Stirling's free-kick evaded everyone to go in off the post before Stirling's misery was compounded by Willie Robertson seeing red for a late lunge.
