Dortmund are a stronger team this season, despite losing Lewandowski

Despite having sold one of their brightest players, Robert Lewandowski, I dare to say that Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund are a stronger team this season than they were in 2013/14. For the last three seasons, we have seen a very dynamic BVB, that applies an intense counter pressing, as well as keeping possession of the ball, with a great short passing game, and an extraordinary counter attack, that has made them one of the best teams on the globe.

This season’s BVB are no different at all, but they are stronger because they have more depth in their squad, there is a lot of competition now for many of the first team places, and that is making the eleven players fielded run frantically, that is what I saw in their last game against Freiburg, and I think that is what Arsenal should be expecting for today’s clash.

The reincorporation of Subotic in defence and Kagawa in the offensive midfield are great news for Klopp’s men. The addition of Ginter, Ramos and Immobile to last seasons brilliant incorporations, has given BVB depth enough to challenge for both, national and continental titles, and I have no doubt that they are going for them all.
