Rovers at full strength

Doncaster boss Paul Dickov has a full squad available as Rovers prepare for their first home game of the season against Port Vale at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Jamie McCombe made his long-awaited return from a spinal injury against York in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night and the 31-year-old is in contention ahead of the weekend, despite nursing a broken nose.

Fellow defenders Reece Wabara and Rob Jones were both a bit stiff and sore after the opening game of the campaign due to a lack of game time, with captain Jones having only recently returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a neck injury.

Full-back Wabara sat out the trip to York while centre-half Jones was a substitute, replacing McCombe after 82 minutes, but the duo will be pushing for starting places again on Saturday.

Vale midfielder Michael O'Connor faces a late fitness test and is a major doubt.

O'Connor had to be taken off at half-time during Vale's 6-2 Capital One Cup win against Hartlepool on Tuesday and he was unable to train on Thursday, but Micky Adams is determined to give him every chance to play at the weekend.

"We will hopefully get him on the training ground on Friday but if we have to leave it until Saturday we will do because I think he is an important player for us," the Vale boss told the Stoke Sentinel.

Meanwhile, Richard Duffy could be restored at the back after he sat out the cup game in midweek after returning from an ankle injury in the 1-1 draw with Walsall on the opening day.
