Tyson delivers knock-out blow

Substitute Nathan Tyson fired home an injury-time goal to rescue a 1-1 draw for Doncaster and deny Preston a smash-and-grab victory at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Chris Humphrey's 66th-minute wonder strike looked to have won it for the visitors, before Tyson crashed home amidst a goalmouth scramble to deny North End.

Rovers were dealt a huge blow inside 10 minutes when skipper Rob Jones had to leave the field with what looked like a recurrence of the neck problem that kept him out for so long. He was replaced by Liam Wakefield.

Jones' withdrawal galvanised Paul Dickov's side, with James Coppinger and Kyle Bennett both going close.

A brilliant run from Coppinger ended with a shot into Jamie Jones' midriff, before the Preston keeper denied Theo Robinson with his legs.

Marc De Val almost caught Jones out early in the second half with a free-kick from 40 yards out but the keeper got back to touch the ball over.

Rovers keeper Jed Steer then pushed away Alan Browne's stinging effort as North End mustered a response, before the visitors went ahead as Paul Gallagher's cross was headed out to Humphrey who blasted a stunning effort into the top corner of the net.

But right at the death, Doncaster poured forward and Wakefield's shot into a crowded box reached Tyson who thumped home from close range.
