Juventus have signed Dani Alves on a two-year contract after the full-back decided to call time on his Barcelona career.

The 33-year-old Brazilian had 12 months left on his contract at the Nou Camp but asked to leave earlier this month after a successful eight-year stint with the Spanish giants.

Alves was a regular for Barcelona since joining from Sevilla in 2008. He helped them to the Primera Division, Copa del Rey and Champions League treble in 2014-15 and won his sixth Primera Division title in the season just ended.

However, he has now joined Serie A champions Juve on a deal that will run to June 30, 2018, and a statement published on the Italian club's official website revealed an option for a further year exists.

Alves, who was part of the Brazil squad which was knocked out of this summer's Copa America in the group stages, arrived in Turin over the weekend to complete his switch and passed his medical on Monday.

The Old Lady, who have also signed Miralem Pjanic from rivals Roma in the close season, have won the last five Serie A titles - under Antonio Conte and then current coach Massimiliano Allegri.
