Daley Blind making himself at home in Manchester

If ever Manchester United fans could have a good sign that a transfer was looking more likely than not then it’s the player being spotted house-hunting in your general area. That’s just the report that will be encouraging to fans coming from the Metro today as the Old Trafford club look to complete the £15 million signing.

The player himself has spoken of the move, saying from a personal perspective it would be ‘very hard’ to turn down a switch from Ajax to United. The 24-year-old is a versatile defender and defensive midfielder that fits the ideal of what Louis van Gaal is looking for in his efforts to remodel his back third:

"Of course, it's flattering when you're linked with clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona," Blind told Goal."It would be very hard to turn down these kind of clubs. But there's no serious interest as of yet."There are plenty of players who promise to stay and then leave after all. I am keeping my options open. I am very happy in Amsterdam and at Ajax, but you never know what could happen."

A report in the Express states that Daley Blind arrived in England this week to begin looking for a home whilst negotiations between his current club and proposed club were finalised.

Louis van Gaal has a three year contract at United and results so far from pre-season will be encouraging and show the team has a much better balance. The manager has cautioned though that there is a lot of work to do on the training ground with the players before his philosophy and the team really click.
