Clyde 2 Montrose 0

Clyde extended their unbeaten league run to five matches with a 2-0 home win against Montrose.

Montrose defender Garry Wood headed into his own net in the 57th minute and Clyde midfielder Scott Ferguson made sure of all three points with a header of his own in the 80th minute.

Ferguson hit the post inside the opening 30 seconds as Clyde came bursting out of the blocks, but clear-cut chances were at a premium before the home forward forced Montrose goalkeeper Stuart McKenzie to produce a smart save just before the interval.

Wood was unlucky to head the ball beyond McKenzie early in the second half and soon after the visiting keeper was forced to keep out an effort from Keigan Paker.

The home side continued to look the more threatening and Ferguson put the result beyond doubt with 10 minutes remaining when he latched on to Paul Slane's cross to head home into the top corner.
