Cesc, Silva, Falcao and more combine to Creat The Ultimate Footballer: Premier League

01 November 2014 10:12

The creation of one's ultimate footballer is entirely subjective as every football fanatic has different views on what is perfect in the beautiful game. Whether it be the ability to dribble effortlessly past their opponent or the ability to split your opponent in two with a fair crunching tackle. This series will showcase my opinion on the ultimate footballer from many different leagues and countries.

CREATING THE ULTIMATE FOOTBALLER - PREMIER LEAGUE

Hair - Emre Can, Liverpool

Could be seen as a completely biased choice but as a Liverpool fan, Emre Can has a fantastic haircut. This could have also went to Southampton striker Graziano Pelle who has a very similar style to Can. However, the Liverpool dynamo gets the nod ahead of the Italian.

Head - Radamel Falcao, Manchester United

El Tigre is one of the best headers in the world after scoring mass amounts of goals with his head whilst playing for Porto and Atletico Madrid. It was at these clubs where he earned his reputation of one of the world’s deadliest strikers. Able to score with his feet or his head, he has recently moved to Manchester United on loan where a deal is already said to be in place to keep him at Old Trafford permanently.

Brain - David Silva, Manchester City

David Silva is one of the best creative midfielders in the world and arguably the best in the Premier League. When played in a central role rather than on the left hand side, he is the hub for all of Manchester City’s best attacking play. The Spaniard displays fantastic technical ability and can pass, shoot and dribble. When played through the middle, he is simply unstoppable.

Eyes - Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea

Cesc Fabregas broke the hearts of Arsenal fans this summer by completing his transfer from Barcelona to a different London club in Chelsea. His purchase was genius by Jose Mourinho, with Fabregas already proving his worth with a staggering 10 assists in just 12 Chelsea appearances. The Spaniard has fantastic vision and can unlock a defence with ease. His is the perfect pass master for any team and can help Chelsea lift the title this season.

Body - Yaya Toure, Manchester City

There aren’t many players who can match Yaya Toure for strength and when combined with world class ability, he could walk into most club’s midfields. Although the Ivorian hasn’t enjoyed a great start to the new campaign, he was instrumental in securing City the title in Manuel Pellegrini’s first season at the club. The powerful midfielder uses his colossal frame and strength to hold off opponents and dictate the game.

Lungs - Mark Noble, West Ham

Mark Noble might be seen as a surprise inclusion as the lungs of the perfect Premier League footballer. However last season Noble covered more ground than any other Premier League player. The Englishman covered 380,927 metres last season which is the equivalent of completing nine London marathons. He covered more distance than both Mile Jedinak and Steve Sidwell who were second and third respectively in the table for distance covered. For Hammers it may come as little surprise to see Noble included as the crowd favourite displayed tremendous stamina last campaign.

Hands - Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea

Up there with the best goalkeepers in the world is Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois. After years of loans to Atletico Madrid, the Belgian is finally ready in Chelsea’s eyes to become the clubs number one shot stopper. The youngster has displaced Petr Cech which is no easy feat. He is the hands of my ultimate footballer as he is one of the safest keepers in the league and in the world.

Right Leg - Theo Walcott, Arsenal

Although Theo Walcott has been plagued by injuries, when he is fit, he is an amazing player to watch. If Arsenal had kept the winger fit through recent seasons, they may have benefitted from the electric performances Walcott is capable of. Walcott had held Arsenal’s club sprint record after beating Thierry Henry only for youngster Hector Bellerin to take the 25 year old’s crown. Nevertheless, Walcott is still one of the fastest players in the league and in the world.

Left Leg - Angel di Maria, Manchester United

Angel di Maria was one of the headline signings of the summer as Manchester United completed a summer spending spree by landing one of the biggest names in world footballer. A sensational season for Real Madrid saw the Argentine depart following the arrival of James Rodriguez and di Maria has continued his fine form in England. The Argentine has a sweet left peg combined with blistering pace, he is one of the most exciting footballers to watch in the world.

Right Foot - Sergio Aguero, Manchester City

Sergio Aguero is one of the best players in the world and there was no other choice for the right foot. The same foot that won Manchester City the title in heroic fashion in that memorable game against QPR, the foot that has maintained one of the best conversion rates in the world despite only playing 60% of his team’s games since joining the Citizens. Once again this season, he has been the stand out player at the Etihad and is a good bet for the Golden Boot if he continues firing on all cylinders.

Left Foot - Robin Van Persie, Manchester United

One of the greatest transfer moves of all time was when Sir Alex Ferguson snatched Robin Van Persie from rivals Arsenal for a meagre £20m. The striker fired United to the title; a title they may not have won if they hadn't secured the signature of the Dutchman. Under Sir Alex, he was electrifying but under David Moyes he was plagued by injuries yet again. Now with Louis van Gaal at the helm, a mentor, a friend and a coach he admires, he will be hoping to re-find his best form and fire United back into the top four.
