Grainger back from ban

Carlisle skipper Danny Grainger will return to contention for the home game against Exeter following suspension.

Defender Grainger has missed the last two games after reaching 10 yellow cards and boss Keith Curle must now decide whether to recall him to the side or stick with Patrick Brough at left-back.

Striker Billy Paynter returned to the bench as an unused substitute for the midweek win against Cheltenham following injury and fitness issues and is pushing for his first appearance since December.

Brad Potts and Danny Kearns remain doubtful after missing the last two games due to respective leg injuries and defender Troy Archibald-Henville (knee) will be monitored.

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale is unlikely to make many changes to his side despite a run of seven games without a win.

Craig Woodman and David Noble are still out after aggravating hamstring injuries but midfielder Matt Oakley could return after sitting out against York last time out.

Jamie McAllister is expected to continue deputising for Woodman, after the 36-year-old played his first full 90 minutes for the club following his January arrival.

Jordan Moore-Taylor is also a concern for Tisdale, but he admitted he is likely to stick with the same side that secured a 0-0 draw against the Minstermen.
