Scott Wharton and James Dunne in line for Cambridge starts

Scott Wharton and James Dunne are in contention to start when Cambridge host Sky Bet League Two play-off rivals Exeter.

Defender Wharton and midfielder Dunne have returned to fitness following injuries sustained last month and were unused substitutes in Friday's loss at Grimsby.

U's winger Piero Mingoia remains doubtful having missed the last four games with a groin problem, while striker Barry Corr is a long-term injury absentee.

On-loan forward Gerry McDonagh may be available to return after sitting out the last three games.

Lee Holmes could be in line to make his first appearance in almost four months as Exeter look to strengthen their play-off push.

The experienced midfielder has not played since suffering ankle ligament damage against Yeovil on Boxing Day but he was an unused substitute for Friday's 2-1 win over Barnet and could now feature against Cambridge.

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale may be reluctant to make too many changes to a winning side but will need to weigh up whether captain Jordan Moore-Taylor and 16-year-old Ethan Ampadu will be able to start twice in four days.

Moore-Taylor was a fitness doubt before Friday's game but played the whole match - scoring the opening goal - while Ampadu featured for 75 minutes in his first senior appearance since November.
