Craig Jones to miss out for Bury against Rochdale

Bury defender Craig Jones will miss the derby visit of Rochdale after another injury setback.

The 30-year-old lasted just 29 minutes of his comeback following four months out with hamstring trouble before being forced off with a calf problem against Bradford on Saturday.

Midfielder Jacob Mellis complained of a hamstring issue in the game but manager Lee Clark is confident it was only cramp while goalkeeper Joe Murphy does not appear to have been affected by taking a knock to his elbow.

Defender Reece Brown could come into contention for a squad place after almost two weeks' full training while teenagers Callum Styles and George Miller may make way after their starts against Bradford.

Rochdale boss Keith Hill could make changes to his side.

Hill was furious with Dale's display in defeat by Shrewsbury last weekend and accepts they are now outsiders to make the play-offs.

Defender Niall Canavan will hope to come back into contention after missing the last four games through injury.

Keith Keane returned from suspension as a substitute against Shrewsbury and is one player looking to force his way into the starting line-up.
