Brooklyn Beckham's aspirations of emulating dad David's successful football career have been put on hold today as it is rumoured Arsenal Football Club will not be offering the youngster a youth contract at the end of the season.

The 15 year-old is enrolled at Arsenal’s Hale End academy and was hoping to be handed a two-year scholarship to continue playing with the Gunners.

The teenager hit the headlines recently after a surprise call up to the club’s Under 18 side earlier this month, but it is alleged that a decision has been made by Arsenal not to retain Beckham junior’s services next season.

Having started later at Arsenal’s academy than the majority of other youngsters there, Brooklyn was always deemed to be behind his rivals in the right midfield position made famous by his dad, and Arsenal youth coaches are reported to feel other players in this position are more advanced in their development.

Despite this Brooklyn’s coaches still rate the player highly and feel he will make the professional grade at another club although it is unknown whether the teenager is looking for a new team.
