Hughton ready to start first-choice line-up as Brighton eye Premier League

Chris Hughton intends to unleash his first-choice starting XI against lowly Wigan as Brighton gun for promotion to the Premier League.

Victory over the Latics would end the Seagulls' 34-year exile from the top flight and only Shane Duffy (foot) and Connor Goldson (heart condition) are definitely ruled out of this potential promotion party.

Gaetan Bong, Liam Rosenior and Beram Kayal played no part in the 2-0 win at Wolves that put Brighton on the brink and all three are fit and ready to tackle Wigan, for whom Bong used to play.

For the fourth time in four games Jamie Murphy appeared as a substitute on Friday, and the former Sheffield United forward will eye a place in what might become an historic line-up at the Amex.

Nick Powell's 11-minute hat-trick as a substitute against Barnsley is unlikely to earn him a place in Wigan's starting XI.

Interim manager Graham Barrow said after the dramatic 3-2 win over the Tykes, in which Powell's treble turned around a two-goal deficit, that the former Manchester United forward is not yet fit to play 90 minutes after a long hamstring lay-off and is more effective as a second-half introduction.

Forwards Omar Bogle (thigh) and Will Grigg (knee) are expected to miss the relegation run-in as the Latics deal with a sizeable injury list.

Defenders Reece James, Andy Kellett and Donervon Daniels and midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe are also absent.
