Several missing for Brentford in Carabao Cup

Brentford are without several absentees for the visit of Norwich in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Sergi Canos is out with an ankle injury, and Lasse Vibe is not expected to return from a foot problem until at least the weekend.

There also remains some uncertainty surrounding Henrik Dalsgaard, who missed the weekend's fixture with Reading after appearing to be knocked out against Sheffield Wednesday.

Lewis Macleod could yet make manager Dean Smith's matchday squad as he continues his return following a long-term knee injury.

Norwich will again be without forward Nelson Oliveira, who is recovering from a groin problem.

Defender Grant Hanley is cup tied having played for Newcastle earlier in the competition, while forward Steven Naismith has been carrying an abductor muscle problem.

Midfielder James Maddison has shrugged off a knock suffered in Saturday's 1-0 win at Sheffield United, but Wes Hoolahan is likely to come back into contention along with Mario Vrancic as head coach Daniel Farke looks to freshen up his side.

Alex Pritchard is stepping up his recovery from ankle surgery, while Matt Jarvis (ankle), Jamal Lewis (knee) and Louis Thompson (Achilles) also continue their rehabilitation.
