Bees hope Canos returns in time to sting Robins

Brentford host Bristol City on Tuesday night hoping winger Sergi Canos might make his first appearance of the campaign.

The winger has missed the opening two Sky Bet Championship games of the season, as well as the Carabao Cup win over AFC Wimbledon, due to an ankle injury.

But manager Dean Smith will want the former Norwich man fit after losing both league outings so far.

Alan Judge (leg) and Lewis Macleod (knee) are definitely out of the contest at Griffin Park.

Defender Joe Bryan has a 50-50 chance of being fit for the clash as City look to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat at Birmingham two days ago.

The Robins are definitely without Matty Taylor and Milan Djuric, as both players continue their recoveries from groin injuries.

City manager Lee Johnson, meanwhile, is continuing to pursue a new striker ahead of the transfer window closing later this month, with that search intensifying after Luton target Isaac Vassell opted to join Birmingham.

Another player to be linked with a move to the West Country, according to media reports in his own country, is Icelandic goalkeeper Ogmundur Kristinsson.
