Alex Jones could make Bradford debut against Chesterfield

Bradford could include new signing Alex Jones in their squad for the home game against Chesterfield.

Striker Jones, 22, was signed for an undisclosed fee from Birmingham this week and put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year contract.

Boss Stuart McCall has moved to fill the void left by on-loan pair Haris Vuckic and Marc McNulty, who have returned to respective parent clubs Newcastle and Sheffield United.

McCall has no new injury or suspension worries and can call on midfielder Josh Cullen, whose loan spell from West Ham was extended until the end of the season earlier this week. Striker Billy Clarke (calf) and winger Filipe Morais (muscle strain) are still out.

Chesterfield have defender Sam Hird available again after recovering from illness.

However, a handful of other players have been struggling with flu this week and have missed training. Blues boss Danny Wilson will assess their fitness.

Midfielder Gary Liddle has been the subject of offers from other clubs and looks set to leave, putting his involvement on Saturday into question.

Goalkeeper Tommy Lee (shoulder) and defenders Dan Jones (foot) and Paul McGinn (hamstring) are still not ready to return.
