Bony to make City switch with international medical

It seems that City are looking to further bolster their attack and protect Aguero, Dzeko and Jovetic from further injury by recruiting a fourth striker in Wilfried Bony from Swansea.

The Ivory Coast striker will have a medical whilst on duty at the Africa Cup of Nations and move to City for a £28m fee should all be well. The deal will make Bony a City player for the next four-and-a-half years where he should certainly offer more options up-front with everything still to play for domestically and in Europe.

The 26-year-old was the Premier League top-scorer in 2014 with 20 goals, proving to be a handful and lifting Swansea up the table. With Swansea not qualifying for the Champions League he is eligible for Manchester City selection which will be a great advantage with Barcelona on the horizon.

The Premier League champions do have issues with Financial Fair Play restrictions limiting their spending and wage bill but the reports suggest that Bony will start on a basic £75k-a-week that will rise to 100k with incentives.

Man City have also recouped some funds with the sale of Rodwell, Garcia and the loan of Micah Richards. In addition they will have an additional £25million coming their way with the sale of Negredo to Valencia at the end of the season due to the loan obligation.
