Bony Seeking Move To Top Six Club

If one player this last year has impressed above all, it has been the Swansea striker, Wilfied Bony, who was sold from Vitesse Arnhem, to Swansea last year for £10m. He has consistently showed himself to be a star player for the club and fans both of club and game have been asking the same question all the time; who will he move to next, and when?

Bony, playing currently for the Ivory Coast in the World Cup, would like to be sold to a top six club, according to his agent, Dalibor Lacina, who says that he “will only leave [Swansea] for a top six club.” Interest has come in from at least two clubs who have said they would like to use his services, but it is too early yet to talk about anything specific.

Lacina has said that they will “see what will happen in the future but we have no pressure because Bony is happy in Swansea." Whilst this is true, he will also be genuinely ambitious to move and to make a bigger impact on the Premier League. So who will he sign for?

Would he fit in well at Manchester City? With all the striking force they have, he could operate just behind the likes of Sergio Aguerro or Alvaro Negredo, when they are fit and adapt to fit when they are not playing. If it is Liverpool, then one finds it difficult to see where he would fit into the shape of the club and its current players. Arsenal may then become firm favourites to sign such a powerful force as this almost by default.

Bony, who scored 25 goals last season, is certainly worth the £20m being asked of any prospective team and he is worth the gamble if there are teams who are missing out on star players with a killer finish. And what may also be the case is that a team who are just outside the top six could sign him. When one considers where Manchester United finished and where they hope to finish next year, Van Gaal could do a lot worse than covet Wilfried Bony into a red shirt.
