Amos set to keep Bolton place

On-loan goalkeeper Ben Amos looks set to retain his spot between the posts for Bolton's clash with Reading.

The shot-stopper extended his stay from Manchester United on Monday and although Andy Lonergan (concussion) has a chance of returning on Tuesday night, it is likely to only be to the bench because Amos kept a clean sheet in Saturday's win over Brighton.

Winger Liam Feeney came off 25 minutes from time with a slight knee injury but it is hoped he should be fine to feature.

Kevin McNaughton (hamstring) returned at the weekend and striker Craig Davies (hamstring) is pencilled in for a behind-closed-doors game later this week, with Mark Davies (knee) also slated for a March comeback, yet Darren Pratley (hamstring), Adam Bogdan (ankle), Max Clayton (knee) and Liam Trotter (thigh) are still sidelined.

Yakubu could be recalled to a Reading side desperately lacking goals.

The Royals have scored just once in their last five Championship outings and drew another blank on Saturday as they crashed 3-0 at home to Nottingham Forest, with experienced striker Yakubu coming on as a late substitute.

Boss Steve Clarke has no new injury worries and was able to welcome back defender Chris Gunter at the weekend following a month out with an ankle problem.

Anton Ferdinand is still out with calf trouble and Jem Karacan is building up his fitness following a long-term knee injury.
