Gary Madine faces late fitness test as Bolton take on Bury in crunch clash

Bolton are sweating on the fitness of Gary Madine ahead of their crunch derby clash with Bury.

The striker suffered a setback in his recovery from a shoulder problem and missed Saturday's loss to Oldham, with his availability - for a game that could see Bolton promoted three days later - to be determined on the morning of the contest.

Boss Phil Parkinson is expected to be able to call on Andrew Taylor, though, with the defender having missed four fixtures due a calf complaint.

Wanderers need two wins to guarantee an instant return to the Championship, while defeats for Fleetwood and Bradford on Monday would mean Bolton can secure promotion with a win over the Shakers.

Taylor Moore could come back into Bury's squad.

The on-loan defender missed Thursday's derby loss to Rochdale having not trained with a thigh problem but the additional rest period may have worked in his favour in terms of coming back for the visit to the Macron Stadium.

Craig Jones will not play again this season because of a calf problem, while Andrew Tutte (hamstring), Nathan Cameron (knee), Zeli Ismail (hamstring) and Danny Mayor (hip) are all long-term absentees.

Boss Lee Clark had opted for a midfield diamond against Dale and may try to experiment again with a team that has scored just once in five matches.
