Russell sees off East Stirling
Andrew Russell's third goal of the season gave Berwick a crucial 1-0 win over East Stirling in their push for promotion.
With Stirling dropping points to Elgin, Berwick moved to within three points of a play-off place thanks to Russell's first-half winner.
Russell was played in by Ross Gray, and the striker finished right-footed into the centre of the goal on the stroke of half time.
Kevin Turner, David Greenhill and Maxwell Wright all went close to equalising for East Stirling as they pressed for an equaliser in the second half but the home goalkeeper William Bald was in great form to keep Berwick ahead.
The result saw East Stirling drop to five points below their opponents and ended their hopes of reaching the play-offs.
