Benzema to add venom to Reds attack say reports

The undoubted issue for Liverpool has been how to cope in the post-Suarez era, It has been difficult, there has been moments of promise but ultimately their toothless attack is costing them dearly. On paper the likes of Balotelli, Borini and Lambert should be scoring but their failure to find the necessary form has condemned the entertaining team of last season into a rather frustrating shambles in 11th place in the Premier League.

Enter the Express who have been spoiling us with transfer rumours of late whilst referencing ‘reports in Spain’ as the source for this one. If those reports are to be believed then Brendan Rodgers is lining up a £50million bid for Real Madrid strike ace Karim Benzema who certainly seems to have no trouble at all putting a ball in the back of the net.

Liverpool discovered first hand how effective the player is as he put three past them in the Champions League and has 125 goals for Real in his 258 appearances.

If Liverpool were to gain the services of Benzema then it would certainly silence the critics who claim the money from the Suarez deal was squandered on players someway below the marquee level of Suarez.

The other factor for Liverpool has been the loss through injury of the other half of the partnership that drew comparison with the original SAS partnership in Daniel Sturridge and their seems no firm date for his return. Benzema joins the list of other targets in the pipeline such as Wilfried Bony and Jackson Martinez.
