Bayern Munich's Karl-heinz Rummenigge: no date yet for Arjen Robben return

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said he still cannot predict when Arjen Robben will make a return to action, although club doctors are doing all they can to get him fit.

The Dutchman has been sidelined since March 5 with a recurrence of a groin problem which has kept him out of action for large spells of recent seasons.

It is not clear whether the 32-year-old will be able to play again this season and Rummenigge said he will have to continue being patient.

"I saw him at lunchtime in our headquarters and he's training, he's running, but we've still got to remain patient," Rummenigge said to Sport1.de as Bayern prepared for their trip to face Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

"We cannot make a forecast. He is doing everything, the medical department and the doctors are all doing everything to get him back."

Robben has been restricted to just 15 appearances in the Bundesliga this season, in which he has scored four goals.

He scored 17 in the league last season, despite missing the final eight matches with the same injury.
