Roma defender Davide Astori could be sidelined for several weeks after being diagnosed with knee ligament damage, the Serie A side announced Thursday.
Astori suffered the injury late in Roma's 5-1 win over CSKA Moscow on Wednesday, a victory that left Rudi Garcia's men top of Champions League Group E.
A statement on www.asroma.it said: "Astori was sent for tests which revealed a right knee sprain with damage to the collateral medial ligament.
"The player has already started physiotherapy."
Roma finished runners-up in Serie A last season, securing their ticket to the Champions League for the first time since the 2010-2011 season.
