Arsenal keep marching on just like every other year

For as far as most can remember, this is the time of the year when Arsenal football club normally find their form almost seamlessly regardless of troubles earlier in the season. This season is no different as the Gunners have managed to move from sixth place to third in a matter of weeks. Not only is the recent peak in form out if habit but also out of the fact that formerly injured players like Mesut Ozil have come from injury to hit the ground running.

Everton may have provided some bit of resistance but it was nowhere near what was required as they found themselves being put to the sword by an Arsenal side looking to make amends for their Champions League slump at the hands of Monaco. Olivier Giroud finished instinctively to open the scoring with Tomas Rosicky confirming the result. At the other end, Romelu Lukaku took the liberty of spurning chances to leave Everton just six points above the drop zone. What at one point looked like a top four side may soon be battling to avoid the jaws of relegation as Roberto Martinez seeks to take another side to the Championship.

Full credit to Arsenal and the beloved Arsene Wenger for being able to find the perfect formula for top form at least once every season round about this time as this almost ensures a fourth place finish as that seems to be the yard stick for success at the Emirates.

From another angle it does seem to take away the league’s competitive edge as the Gunners look like they have an unwritten law for when to start playing at the highest level.
