In form Arsenal are looking to push through a deal to sign FC Porto's goalscoring midfielder Yacine Brahimi, according to reports today.

French born Algerian Brahimi is highly-rated by Portuguese giants FC Porto, the club he joined last summer from Granada for a fee of just €6.5million.

The 25-year-old has scored an impressive 11 goals in all competitions for Porto, in just 27 appearances and is also the top scoring midfielder in the Champions League this season with 5 in 8.

Brahimi has already been linked with a big money move away from Portugal, with Manchester United and AC Milan showing interest in the player.

Sources in Italy have today added another club to the list of interested parties, claiming Wenger's side are keen on doing a deal for the player. But any deal for Brahimi would cost the Gunners a substantial amount, with Porto's track record showing they'll want big money for the midfielder.

Brahimi's contract contains a £33million release clause which will have to be met before Porto will sit down with any prospective buyers and the fact that investment group Doyen Sports own 80% of Brahimi's economic rights may also be a stumbling block in any transfer for the player.
