Knee blow for Crawford

Arbroath goalkeeper David Crawford begins a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a knee injury when the League Two leaders host Queen's Park at Gayfield.

Scott Morrison looks set to don the gloves, with the Red Lichties welcoming Adam Hunter and Jack Smith back from injury while on-loan Dylan Carreiro also returns after missing out in the Scottish Cup last weekend.

Assistant manager Todd Lumsden said: "Queen's Park have been doing really well in the league recently. They are a side that can move the ball around nicely. However, if we hit the standards we can and show a ruthlessness in front of goal then we can win."

Queen's have brought in Queen of the South youngster Pat Slattery on loan and he heads north alongside David MacWilliams, Gavin Mitchell and Kevin Fotheringham, who are all available after injury.

Back-up goalkeeper Blair Lochhead is doubtful with James Baty (knee), Vinny Berry (hamstring) and Chris Duggan (ankle) out injured.

Head coach Gus McPherson said: "Our last game with Arbroath ended 2-0 to them but it was a very tight affair. This one will be as well.

"We have improved since then so we can got to Gayfield with confidence, but we recognise that Arbroath have improved as well which can be seen by them winning nine out of 10 games."
