Edinson Cavani has refused to rule out the possibility of a summer move to the Premier League as Uruguay prepare to face Italy in a match the Uruguay team have a slight advantage in before the game. Uruguay will go through with Costa Rica if they draw due to their superior number of goals scored.

It has been reported that the player is unhappy to play out wide whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic is deployed as a lone striker for Laurent Blanc at PSG. The figure of £60miilion to secure his services has been banded about and the player has refused to deny talk of a move in the summer.

When asked about perhaps joining up with Louis Van Gaal at Manchester United, Cavani did not dismiss the idea: “In football you never know. Anything can happen.” Cavani is known for his tireless work-rate and ability to score some impressive goals and has previously attracted interest from several Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Manchester City towards the end of his spell playing at Napoli.

Edinson Cavani has made 30 appearances for PSG since joining from Napoli in 2013, scoring a creditable 16 goals from his wide position. For Napoli Cavani scored 78 goals in 104 appearances between 2010 and 2013. The 27-year-old will be expected to start alongside Luis Suarez in what will be a tough match against Europe’s most successful World Cup team.
