The White Hart Lane club have entered the new season so roughly, the players are even booed by their own fans.

This made Mauricio Pochettino look for reinforcements long before the transfer window opening. There have been rumours about departures, mostly related to Spurs defenders - Vlad Chiriches and Jan Vertonghen.

The Romanian, Chiriches, was ruled out of first-team football with the arrival of Argentinian boss from Southampton. 25-year-old has consequently been linked with a move to two Serie A title contenders - Juventus and Internazionale.

That wasn't the case with Jan Vertonghen who is, despite, also rumoured to leave the London side for a more suitable club. Barcelona, Roma, Zenit and Napoli are all interested for the ex-Ajax player.

But the biggest problem for Tottenham is how to cover the right back, with Kyle Walker being ruled out for an injury since September, as the date of his full recovery still remains unknown for Tottenham staff.

The young American, DeAndre Yedlin, occurred as a possible replacement for the 24-year-old Englishman. With the MLS youngster in form, Londoners hope to terminate his Seattle Sounders loan and give him a chance in the senior team.

He was signed by the Premiership contenders in August this year and was instantly transferred back to the States for one more season with the MLS champions. The right-back failed to make any appearances in England yet, but that's not going to be the case if Pochettino opts for his return in January.

And that is the question - should Yedlin be returning to north London sooner? Kyle Naughton remains the only fully fit player to cover the position, and some competition definitely wouldn't hurt.
