Neal Ardley to run rule over AFC Wimbledon squad ahead of MK Dons clash

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley will hand late fitness checks to a number of players ahead of Tuesday's Sky Bet League One clash with MK Dons.

Chris Whelpdale has returned to training following a groin strain but is still lacking match fitness, while a number of players picked up knocks during Saturday's defeat to Northampton.

Midfielder Tom Soares was forced off at half-time with an ankle problem and winger Andy Barcham is struggling with illness.

Dean Parrett will need to overcome an ankle injury, Darius Charles has a hamstring complaint, and George Francomb could miss the game with his wife due to give birth on Monday.

Kieran Agard is pushing for a recall to the MK Dons starting line-up after his goal from the bench on Saturday.

Milton Keynes manager Robbie Neilson could make further changes to his attack with the likes of Dean Bowditch and Daniel Powell also vying for recalls, while midfielder Darren Potter is another option.

Striker Chuks Aneke is out with the hamstring injury he sustained at Bradford recently and it is likely he will miss the rest of the season.

Dons captain Dean Lewington and fellow defender George Baldock will both serve the final game of their suspensions at Kingsmeadow.
