AFC Wimbledon hit by sickness bug ahead of Bristol Rovers game

A sickness bug and injuries will deprive AFC Wimbledon of at least five first-team regulars for Saturday's League One clash with Bristol Rovers.

"We've had a real glut of illness as three or four players have gone down with stomach bugs and I am 90 per cent sure it will rule them out of Saturday," boss Neal Ardley told Dons Player.

"We also have a couple of injuries so we are definitely going to be five key first-team players short on Saturday, which is a real blow to us."

Wimbledon, who are currently 13th, will be looking to bounce back following a 2-0 defeat to Port Vale last time out.

Bristol Rovers will be hoping midfielder Ollie Clarke is available after limping off with a knee injury during last weekend's home win over Shrewsbury.

Manager Darrell Clarke said the 24-year-old had been assessed this week but would not be drawn on whether he will be fit to face the Dons.

If he does not make it then Stuart Sinclair will come into contention again having replaced Clarke against the Shrews.

Strikers Ellis Harrison and Jermaine Easter could also be options if Clarke decides to make changes up front.
