When Chelsea and Tottenham meet in the Capital One Cup final there’ll be more at stake than just the season’s first trophy.

Here are some of the storylines that will be playing out at Wembley…

1. Three and easy for Chelsea?

The quadruple is off the table – Bradford saw to that with their memorable FA Cup win over Chelsea.

But Jose Mourinho’s side could still end the season with a treble, if not The Treble, and if the Blues can overcome their London rivals on Sunday they will be a third of the way to recording their own piece of history.

They currently sit top of the Barclays Premier League with a five-point gap to second-placed Manchester City and will be hoping to progress into the quarter-finals of the Champions League having managed, unlike the other English teams, not to lose the opening leg of their first knockout phase tie with Paris St Germain. They drew 1-1 in France.
