As the London 2012 Olympic Games draw ever closer, Sport.co.uk asks prospective Team GB members about their favourite sporting memories, career highlights and ambitions for the future.

Synchronised swimming

How did you get into the sport?
My mum’s friend was a part of the club I joined.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
Biz Price [National Performance Director].

Who were your childhood heroes?
The gynasts Svetlana Khorkina [Russian double Olympic gold medal winner] and Ukrainian Lilia Podkopayeva [Gold medal winner at Atlanta ‘96].

What is your favourite Olympic moment?
When Kelly Holmes won her two gold medals at the Athens Olympics.

What has been the toughest part of your training in the build-up to 2012?
The physical training sets with weight belts in the water.

What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
In the German Open this year GB were only a point behind our fierce rivals France.

What are you most looking forward to about the London Games?
Competing for Great Britain on home turf and all the support that goes with that is going to be massive.

What are your ambitions for 2012?
As a team we are aiming for a top six finish.

Which event are you most looking forward to seeing outside of your own?
Gymnastics.

If you weren’t a sportsperson what would you be doing?
I want to be a primary school teacher for ages 4-6.
