Wild Takes Women's Tour Down Under Stage Two

Kirsten Wild of the Cylance Pro Cycling team has won the second stage of the Women's Tour Down Under.

Stage two with Amanda Spratt in the lead was a 32.5km criterium course around Wakefield Road in Adelaide and saw Carlee Taylor from Cippolini and Emily Roper from High 5 the early leaders on the road.

Chloe Hosking of Cippolini took the first sprint and the six points before Roper, Louisa Lobigs and Wormsley went briefly clear.

Lauren Kitchen took the second and third intermediate sprints on laps eight and twelve before the peloton came back together for the final lap.  On that final lap, it came down to a sprint and Kirsten Wild of Cylance Pro Cycling won in a time of 43 minutes and 57 seconds ahead of Rachele Barbieri (CPC), Chloe Hosking (ALE), Alice Barnes (DRP) and Annette Edmondson (WHT) and said: "It's really good to start the season with a big win."

Amanda Spratt of Orica Scott continues to lead the race and the Subaru Queen of the Mountain classification with Chloe Hosking the sprint leader and UHC's Ruth Winder leading the Young Rider classification.
