The 2015 Tour De France In Figures

Some key figures for the Tour De France provided by Amaury Sports Organisation.

Riders - 198 will start and made up of 22 teams of nine riders.

There are 300 support staff and 15 members of the race jury.

The 20-5 Route is 3,360kms long and made up of twenty one stages.

The race will this year visit three countries in The Netherland. Belgium and France, where it will visit 26 departments.

There are 37 stage sites and the race will cross through 624 municipalities, of which 568 are in France.

1550 hotel beds are reserved every day of the race for the 100 ASO staff, 300 temporary staff and the competing teams.

There are ten doctors who travel with the race, five nurses, seven ambulances, 2 medical cars, 1 motorbike and 1 radiology truck.

Race security is provided by 48 members of the Republican Guard, 13 officers who are the permanent police of the tour, 14,000 gendarmes, 9,000 police officers and the CRS riot police are also in attendance.

Over 2000 Journalists from 637 media organisations will work on the race which is broadcast in 190 countries over 100 channels, sixty of which are showing the race live.
