Teams For Matrix Fitness Grand Prix Series Confirmed

A full field of thirteen teams will contest this year's Matrix Fitness Grand Prix Series, as a part of the televised Tour Series events at eight towns and cities across the country.

The list is headlined by British UCI teams Drops and Team WNT, and the new team of Dame Sarah Storey, Storey Racing, who include several members of the defending Matrix Fitness GP Series champions, including Dame Sarah Storey, Britain's most decorated Paralympian.

"I am delighted to have Storey Racing at the Matrix Fitness GP Series in 2017, a series in which I have been part of the winning team since 2014,” said Dame Sarah Storey.

"The competition will be a fantastic battle among the teams. Storey Racing is looking forward to racing and enjoying the spectacle around major towns and cities in the UK”

Several of the teams who will be racing in front of the ITV4 cameras were present at the launch of The Tour Series at Wembley Park at the start of March.

The full list of teams of teams is as follows: Aprire HSS Hire; Drops; Cycle Engage UK; Liv Epic; NCC Group Kuota Torelli; Storey Racing; SunSport Velo; Team Breeze; Team Ford EcoBoost; Team Jadan Weldtite p/b Vive Le Velo; Team OnForm; Team WNT Pro Cycling; and Velo Schills / Interbike RT.

Each squad will field up to five riders in all eight rounds of the Series.  Full details of all of the riders for the Matrix Fitness GP Series will be announced during April.

The Matrix Fitness GP Series will feature at eight of the ten Tour Series events in 2017, getting underway in Worcestershire with Redditch hosting Round One on Tuesday 9 May before Stoke-on-Trent, home of Series sponsors Matrix Fitness, and Northwich complete the opening week on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 May.

A brace of events take place in London, with the iconic location of Wembley Park on Tuesday 16 May and Croydon on Thursday 18 May before a first ever Saturday night event in Bath on Saturday 20 May.

The penultimate event on Tuesday 23 May will be in North Lanarkshire, at Motherwell, who have hosted women's events for three years, before the final round in Stevenage on Bank Holiday Monday, 29 May, which will also include a Team Time Trial for the 13 women's teams.

Highlights of every Tour Series event will be shown on ITV4, with programmes also be available on demand via the ITV Hub.
