Sammy Bennett of Bora Argon 18 has won the Paris-Bourges race for the second time in a row.
The race which actually started in Glen was over 190.3kms and saw Irishman Sam Bennett back defending his title.
Byriel Iverson (Giant Scatto sub23), Ivan Centrone (Differdange), Sander Helven (Topsport), Elie Gesbert (Fortunéo) and Quentin Jauregui of AG2R were in the first break of the day and had a lead of 3.10 after twenty five kilometres.
Forty kilometres later and the gap had risen slightly to 3.25 but with 95kms left, the gap was down to 2.15 but at 2.25 with 58 kilometres to go.
A kilometre later and only Gesbert and Jauregui remained in the break with riders also being shelled out of the back of the peloton which ws split in two. peloton split in two with the two leaders 1.10 ahead of the first group and 1.40 ahead of the second with 48kms to go.
Into the final twenty kilometres and only seventy riders were left in the peloton with Gesbert and Jaurgeil only ahead by ten seconds and six kilometres later, their fine effort of leading the race was over.
Any further attacks were out of the question and the sprint teams moved forward to get their men in prime position.
The sprint was on and up came Sam Bennett of Bora Argon to take the win ahead of Alexander Porsev of Katusha and Rudy Barbier of Roubaix, Lille Metropole.
