Radio Shack Leopard Trek to compete in UCI Tour for the rest of this season

Radio Shack Leopard Trek have announced that they will only be competing in UCI Tour races for the remainder of this season.

The Luxembourg based team send teams to upcoming GP Plouay, GP Québec, GP Montréal, Il Lombardia and the Tour of Beijing but will not field teams for races such as the Tour Of Britain which starts next month.

“We have to keep doing the WorldTour races,“ Tim Vanderjeugd, Radio Shack Press Officer is quoted as saying to Nieuwsblad on the decision by the team's owner: Flavio Becca to only fund teams for UCI Tour races this season. “If we don’t we’ll lose our license.”

For the 2014 season, the team will be known as Trek and will move to Waterloo in Belgium. Trek have said they will try to keep as many riders as possible from the current squad which includes the likes of Andy Schleck and Fabian Cancellera.
