Luc Pichon of Fortuneo Vital Concept has won the opening stage of the CoppiE Bartali race in Italy,
The opening stage was a 90km stage which started and finished in Gatteo and saw Filosi, Calmejane, Pichon, Samparisi, Buts, Schonberger, Jabrayilov made it into the break which was two minutes clear at the halfway point.
The break started to split and Calmejane and Pichon were the only two left with a minute lead,
That was 1.20 with 8kms to go and it came to a sprint between the pair with Luc Pichon taking the win ahead of Calmejane and Viviani.
