According to Direct Velo, there will be no La Mediterraneene race this year.
The French race was originally scheduled to run from February 8-12, 2017, but was reduced to just two stages due to a shortage of police motorcycle escorts and now the same reason is being given for the race now being scrapped altogether.
The race moved to a four stage format in 2014 with one of it's stages a team time trial which in 2016 was won by FDJ with Andriy Grivko of Astana going on to take the overall victory,
The cancellation of the race in France leaves a deeper whole in the calendar for February after the Tour of Qatar was cancelled.
