Lars Boom Out Of The Tour De France

Astana's Lars Boom has been removed from the Tour De France before the race has even started.

Boom, who was carrying the hopes of the Dutch people in that he win at least one stage, has been withdrawn after his cortisol levels were found to be below the normal level.

L'Equipe, are reporting that Astana cannot replace Boom because the results from his test arrived after the team managers meeting and that, whilst he not have broken any anti doping rules, under the agreement with the Movement for Credible Cycling, Boom cannot take part in the race which starts with a 13.7km time trial around Utrecht.
