Katusha's Alexander Kristoff continued his rich vein of form with a second successive victory on the second stage of the Tour Des Fjords in Norway.

Katusha's Alexander Kristoff was in the leader's jersey for this 215km stage from Jondal to Haugesund, which saw Baugnies take the first KOM climb of the day.

Podlaski , Tolhoek and Austevoll got into a break and were able to get 8.50 clear before the gap dropped to six minutes when Tolhoek took the sprint.

Behind them and Madison Genesis, who had a team of British and Irish riders competing, had Dom Jelfs disqualified for holding onto his team car too much on another wet, miserable day.

With 69kms left, the gap stood at 2.03 before Austevoll took some more KOM points and then set off on his own, allowing Podlaski and Tolhoek to be caught by the peloton.

Austevoli ploughed on going up a climb with a ramp of 23%. Once over that, he was caught and passed by Havard Bilkra before Team Joker passed them both.

The sprint was now on and in the closing stages, Katusha with four riders were able to control things. Bystrøm hit the front with a kilometre to go but it was not enough and Alexander Kristoff came through to take the win in 5.42.11 ahead of Jasper Stuyven of Trek Factory Racing and Ashbjorn Andersen with Edvald Boasson-Hagen of MTN Qhubeka in fourth place, followed by Looij, Sbaragli, Valgren, Roinas, Barbero and Oscar Landa.

Kristoff continues to lead the race.
