Edward Clemens of the Spirit Tifosi team has won the Wally Gimber Trophy race.

This spring classic has been run continuously since 1906 and is based around the Tunbridge Wells area with the race comprising of seven, twenty kilometres laps.

ONE Pro Cycling were the biggest team to enter and after a lap, three riders were away with an eight second advantage before being joined by eighteen more and the break disintegrating.

Jez McCann started a new break of nine riders on lap three but the riders regrouped and Harper of ONE Pro Cycling and Coleman Spirit Tifosi took over on the front.

Back together and seven riders were in a break but they were reeled in before Will Fox took the intermediate sprint.

With three laps left, ten riders were on the front and they were able to get 37 seconds ahead of a chasing group and 55 seconds ahead of the peloton. That break split and Edward Clemens of Spirit Tifosi and Byrne of Superano broke clear.

The two riders stayed clear with a lead of 2.55 over the peloton going into the final kilometres. Edward Clemens made his move and he rode away to earn a deserved victory.
