Team Sky's Chris Froome has said that he is pleased to be in yellow after finishing second on the third stage of the 102nd Tour De France.

Froome finished behind Katusha's Joaquin Rodriguez and with the time bonuses, moves into the lead of the race by a second from Tony Martin of Etixx Quick Step.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Froome said: "It's an amazing, amazing feeling to be back in yellow again, especially after last year's disappointment

"It was a bit of a surprise coming into yellow this early but I definitely wouldn't change anything because to be in this position and not having to make up time on any of my GC rivals, I think is the perfect position to be in.

"We are approaching these stages as one day races and starting from scratch and I think the yellow jersey will give everyone a boost and more reason to be at the front.

"Let's hope we can get through with no major issues that is what everyone is thinking about at this stage."
