Dougie Brown has been named head coach of the United Arab Emirates.

Brown, who was the UAE's interim coach earlier this year, is set to take over the role full time next month.

The 47-year-old former England and Scotland all-rounder is also an ex-director of cricket at Warwickshire.

His appointment was confirmed on the UAE's Twitter account on Sunday when a brief statement read: " Delighted to advise that Emirates Cricket Board today announce Dougie Brown has been appointed as #Emirates #Cricket Head Coach! #GoUAE."
