Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has met with detectives as investigations into alleged match fixing continue.

The day after Sri Lanka Cricket announced that fast-bowling coach Anusha Samaranayake had been suspended for two months, with an unlimited ban placed on a second individual, Gayan Wishvajith, who was termed as "the main suspect".

SLC's decision followed reports of alleged approaches to its players during last year's Test series at home to West Indies.

Quoted in the Telegraph, Mathews - who no allegations have been made against - said he had spoken to detectives, saying: "I answered all their questions honestly to help them in their investigation. We all want this game to be clean and whoever has done something wrong, we want them to bring before the courts and take certain decisions.

"As captain of the team I have to mention that the cricketers felt really uncomfortable the last few days because they are the ones who came forward and reported this to the ICC (International Cricket Council) and SLC."
